Program Coordinator
Heza Initiative is seeking a Program Coordinator to lead and oversee our health and nutrition programs. This role is crucial to ensuring the successful planning, implementation, and impact of our initiatives. As a Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing projects, engaging with communities, and collaborating with partners to drive sustainable change.
Description:
The Program Coordinator will be at the forefront of Heza Initiative’s mission to promote maternal and child health. You will oversee key programs such as One Egg Per Patient, Heza Egg Hub, Fresh Food, and Fresh Air, ensuring they run smoothly and effectively. This role requires strong leadership, project management skills, and a deep understanding of community health challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and oversee the implementation of Heza Initiative’s programs.
- Identify community needs and design programs to address maternal and child health challenges.
- Coordinate with government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders to strengthen program impact.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, collecting data to measure success and areas for improvement.
- Lead training sessions and workshops to educate communities on nutrition and health best practices.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and supervision of interns and volunteers.
- Develop grant proposals, funding reports, and donor communications to secure program sustainability.
- Represent Heza Initiative at conferences, networking events, and policy discussions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Social Work, Community Development, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in managing health, nutrition, or community-based projects.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or partnership development is an advantage.
- Ability to work both in-office and in the field, engaging directly with communities.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with monitoring & evaluation tools.
- Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda (French is an asset).
