Internship Opportunity – Program Assistant (3-6 months)
Heza Initiative is looking for a passionate and driven Program Assistant Intern to support the planning and execution of our community-based nutrition and health programs. This internship is an excellent opportunity for students and recent graduates interested in maternal and child health, community development, and public health initiatives. You will work closely with experienced program coordinators and gain hands-on experience in community outreach, project management, and health education.
Description:
As a Program Assistant Intern, you will play a key role in supporting Heza Initiative’s efforts to improve the health and nutrition of women, children, and vulnerable groups. You will assist in implementing our flagship programs such as One Egg Per Child, Effective Breastfeeding, and GBV & Adolescent Nutrition. Your responsibilities will include coordinating field activities, engaging with beneficiaries, supporting research and data collection, and assisting in developing awareness campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing Heza Initiative’s nutrition and health programs.
- Work directly with communities to raise awareness about maternal and child health.
- Conduct surveys and collect data to measure program impact.
- Provide logistical support for events, workshops, and community meetings.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and communication materials.
- Support social media and digital content creation to promote Heza Initiative’s programs.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of projects.
Requirements:
- University student or recent graduate in Public Health, Nutrition, Community Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Strong interest in community health, nutrition, and social impact initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently in a field setting.
- Basic knowledge of research and data collection methods is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
- Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda (French is a plus).
